This ring is crafted in 18K yellow gold and features a 3.64 carat Lightning Ridge Black Opal, accented by 10 diamonds totaling 0.30 carats (F color, VS clarity). The diamonds add brilliance while allowing the opal’s vivid play-of-color, flashes of green, blue, and orange, to remain the focal point.
The opal was cut from an old Lightning Ridge nobby, where precious opal forms within potch nodules. These nodules have historically produced some of the world’s finest black opals. Material of this quality has become increasingly rare as the legendary Lightning Ridge fields yield fewer exceptional stones today.
