At that time Opal Fields Australia supplied opal gems to wholesale buyers in Australia and from around the world. They also provided the visiting tourist an exciting showroom of opal jewelry and loose un-set opal gems while they viewed the opal cutting processes. Opal Fields Australia was established in Sydney by the modern father of the Queensland boulder black opal industry, Mr. Zoltan Berta.
